ASHE – Coffee Brown Suede

Crafted in deep coffee-brown suede, this Ashe is grounded by a rich, warm surface that brings particular depth to its hand-beaded detailing.

The strap is worked entirely by hand in mixed-colour beads, with shades of blue taking prominence, punctuated by subtle hints of yellow.

Against the coffee-brown suede, the blues become the defining visual element bringing a cooler, more expressive rhythm to the earthy body of the piece.

Inspired by the traditional Maasai Olbene bag, the familiar form has been reimagined through Akire’s approach to material, colour and contemporary function.

The interior is finished in African cotton fabric.

Ashe means “thank you” in Maasai an expression of gratitude carried throughout the collection.

In this edition, colour becomes the conversation.

Coffee brown provides the grounding earth tone, while layers of blue beadwork move along the strap with occasional touches of yellow.

The Olbene remains the point of origin, but each Ashe develops its own character through the hands that bead it and the particular relationship between leather and colour.

No two compositions need to speak in exactly the same way.
