ASHE -Turmeric Suede
Ashe means “thank you” in Maasai.
Crafted in turmeric-toned suede, this Ashe is distinguished by its extended shoulder straps, giving it a longer, more elongated drop than the other pieces within the collection.
Designed to sit particularly well on taller frames, its proportions are best suited to wearers approximately 5’8″–6’2″ (173–188 cm), allowing the bag to fall naturally alongside the body.
The suede carries a rich turmeric shade, warm, earthy and softly textured.
Hand-beadwork travels across the front, with additional beaded detailing appearing at the back, creating points of colour and texture from more than one angle.
Drawing from the traditional Maasai Olbene bag, the original reference has been reworked through Akire’s contemporary language of proportion, material and function.
A zipped middle compartment forms part of the body, while a second zip at the back provides discreet additional storage.
The interior is finished in African cotton fabric.

The extended straps change how the piece meets the wearer falling lower against the body and giving the traditional reference a distinctly elongated contemporary silhouette.
Turmeric suede brings the colour of earth and spice, while beadwork appears across both the front and back.
