Sculpted from vegetable-tanned kips leather, this Amuka is distinguished by a fingerprint-like impression across the forehead.

The rhythmic markings evoke the trace of human touch, giving the face an identity particular to this piece.

Its rounded, gourd-inspired silhouette is completed by an ellipse-shaped mouth and a sculptural lid constructed from five individually cut and stacked layers of leather.

The layered finish gives the lid depth and structure while complementing the organic form of the body.

Individually moulded by hand and dried naturally under the sun, every Amuka develops its own expression, contours and proportions. With time, the leather will deepen in colour and acquire a patina unique to its collector.
