Amuka -To Wake Up
The Latest Edition
The latest and largest Amuka created by the House, this edition expands the collection’s sculptural language through scale, structure and proportion.
Handcrafted from vegetable-tanned kips leather, the piece retains Amuka’s expressive human face while introducing an elongated body that extends around its gourd-inspired form.
This additional volume gives the bag a more commanding silhouette and makes it the most capacious Amuka in the collection.
Unlike the preceding Amuka editions, which feature a single carrying strap, this piece is constructed with two hand-held straps.
The paired straps bring balance to its larger form and offer a distinct way of carrying the piece.
Its round -shaped opening is finished with a sculptural lid composed of five individually cut and stacked layers of leather.
The layered construction gives the lid depth, strength and a pronounced architectural finish.
The leather is softened with water, moulded by hand over a carved form and left to dry naturally under the sun.
This gradual process allows every face to emerge with its own expression and contours. No two Amuka pieces are identical.
