This Akidoun is distinguished by the strong expression captured in its sculpted trunk and tusks.

Deeply moulded contours define the elephant’s features, creating a powerful sense of movement, character and presence.

Meaning “to give birth” in Turkana, Akidoun is Akire’s tribute to the African savanna elephant. a symbol of life, memory, strength and continuity.

Crafted from vegetable-tanned kip leather and lined with African cotton, the piece is shaped entirely by hand.

Three artisans work across the moulding, stitching and finishing stages, with each Akidoun requiring 26–30 days to complete.
