Horizontal Beadwork

Each composition begins with the denim itself: its wash, proportion, construction and the space available for the hand to work.

Beaded lines may appear in repetition, change in width or colour, or sit at unexpected points across the piece.

Unlike a printed pattern, the line is built bead by bead.

Small variations remain visible, carrying the presence of the hand from one passage to the next.

The result is never simply decoration placed onto denim.
It is a conversation between the existing garment and what the hand chooses to introduce.
