An individually sourced & Denim pair in pale blue, selected for its 100% cotton composition and transformed through a twisted expression of Akire’s horizontal beadwork.
The composition begins with three horizontal lines in gold and white, the beads twisted together to give each line greater texture and movement.
A second sequence follows in black and red, worked through the same twisted technique, before the arrangement repeats across the denim.
The result is a layered rhythm; gold and white, black and red where colour, repetition and the twist of the beadwork give the horizontal lines their distinction.
The original denim carries its own character, including patchwork and distressed detailing around the knees.
These existing elements are retained as part of the garment Akire chose to work with, rather than removed in the process of transformation.
At the back pocket, gold and white return in the form of the Akire beetle, moving the beadwork from line to House symbol.
