Across the front, four Akire beetles are worked by hand in sky-blue beads, two positioned on either side.
The close relationship between the beadwork and the denim creates a tonal composition, allowing the beetles to emerge with subtlety rather than sharp contrast.
At the back pocket, the palette shifts.
A single beetle in light green introduces an unexpected note of colour, distinguishing the reverse of the piece while continuing the recurring motif.
Worked bead by bead, the composition is an exercise in tone, placement, and the individuality of the hand allowing Akire’s beetle to reveal itself differently as the denim moves.
