An individually sourced Universal Thread, Good Co. denim in dark indigo, selected for its 100% cotton composition and reworked through an arrangement of hand-beaded insect forms.
Across the front, six gold motifs are arranged in two groups of three, one composition on either side of the denim. Within each group, two Akire beetles frame a ladybug silhouette placed between them.
The introduction of the ladybug creates a subtle interruption within the familiar beetle repetition. Worked entirely in gold, the different silhouettes are held together by a single palette, allowing their forms and the relationship between them to become the focus.
At the back, the gold beadwork continues at two different points. One motif is positioned on the back pocket, while another appears lower at calf level.
Rather than mirroring the structured arrangement at the front, their separation allows the beadwork to be encountered gradually as the denim moves around the body.
