The beetle moves from Akire’s signature into the denim.

A sourced BOSS – HUGO BOSS denim in white, selected for its 100% cotton composition and regular silhouette, becomes the ground for one of Akire’s recurring symbols from nature.

Five beetles are worked by hand in light-pink beads. Four inhabit the front of the denim,two positioned on either side while a fifth appears at the back pocket.

Against the clarity of white denim, the restrained use of a single colour allows the form of each beetle to remain distinct.

Here, it is translated through beadwork and placed onto an existing garment, giving the denim another life while carrying a recognisable mark of the House.

Each beetle is hand formed bead by bead, allowing the hand to remain visible in the work.
